As the fifth annual JOHNNY RAMONE TRIBUTE nears, more attractions have been announced for the event on Saturday, October 3 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (6000 Santa Monica Boulevard) in Los Angeles.
The JOHNNY RAMONE TRIBUTE will feature a special screening of the classic 1977 Ramones concert film It’s Alive. Actress Rose McGowan (Grindhouse Planet Terror, Deathproof, Charmed) will introduce one of JOHNNY’s favorite all-time movies: George A Romero’s 1968 cult horror classic Night of The Living Dead. The event marks the world premiere of Night of the Living Dead in 3D presented by PassmoreLab. The films will be screened against the mausoleum wall on a 41 ft polarized screen donated by Senova.
Johnny’s wife Linda Ramone and Johnny Ramone Army Chief of Staff John Cafiero will be joined by original band member Tommy Ramone and CJ Ramone to meet with fans and sign memorabilia. 20-original paintings by Dee Dee Ramone--presented and curated by Dee Dee’s wife Barbara Ramone--will be on display. "I think it’s about time for all of this stuff to come out," said Barbara Ramone, wife of the late seminal bassist and founding member of the Ramones. "Dee Dee is still here. That's very obvious. His spirit lives in these paintings." A rare Ramones memorabilia exhibit will be presented.
Punk veteran Joe Sib of Star 98.7’s “Complete Control Radio” will conduct a live radio broadcast from the event. Tune in all week to win Johnny Ramone Army (JRA) prize packs: http://987fm.com.
Additional celebrity guests confirmed to attend Saturday include Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, Billy Zoom of X, Joe Escalante of the Vandals and actress PJ Soles (Riff Randall of Rock n' Roll High School), plus Rosanna Arquette, David Arquette, Pete Yorn, Charlotte Caffey of the GoGo’s, Stan Lee of the Dickies and Jeff McDonald of Redd Kross, with many more to be onsite.
