The film's director and executive producer Michael Bay asked Warner Bros. Records' multiplatinum rock band Linkin Park to provide the sonic backdrop to the live-action robot fantasy film. Not only did the band write and record the film's theme song, entitled "New Divide," specifically for the soundtrack, they were also asked by Bay, Oscar®-winning composer Hans Zimmer, and award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky to contribute to the score. "New Divide" is currently available for purchase on iTunes.
Transfomers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Album also features music from Green Day (who contribute "21 Guns" — a song from their new album 21st Century Breakdown), Taking Back Sunday, The Used , The All-American Rejects, Cavo, The Fray, Staind, Nickelback, Cheap Trick and more.

SPRINGSTEEN ANNOUNCES RETURN TO NEW JERSEY AS FINAL MAJOR MUSICAL ACT
TO PLAY GIANTS STADIUM SEPT 30, OCT 2, & OCT 3
(PR)—Bruce Springsteen announced from the stage at his Izod Center concert in East Rutherford, NJ that he and the "legendary" E Street Band will return as the final major musical act to play Giants Stadium on September 30, October 2, and October 3. Tickets go on sale June 1 at 10am Eastern. Springsteen holds the record as the number one selling artist at the Meadowlands (which includes Giants Stadium) in New Jersey, having sold out 56 concerts to date with the E Street Band.
The Working on a Dream tour has earned rave reviews, with Shawn Courchesne of the Hartford Courant proclaiming, "It just got better and better... perfect, simply perfect." Rolling Stone Online proclaimed of a rehearsal concert, "Springsteen seemed to offer a renewed sense of purpose and optimism onstage, rejuvenating and uniting a people in danger of losing their faith."
"He's the best there is," exclaimed Melissa Baron of SF Weekly, "Springsteen played so hard that sweat dripped off his whole body." Ricardo Baca of The Denver Post wrote, "Springsteen is a better showman today than in 1984," while Mike Ragogna said in the Huffington Post, "If you haven't been to one of Springsteen's shows in a while, you need to catch this tour." Meanwhile Sarah Rodman of the Boston Globe writes, "Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band don't have to play for two hours and 40 minutes. Nor, when they play, is it a requirement that Springsteen fall to his knees, shimmy and shake, attack his guitar like he's still discovering new sounds it can make, or take audience requests that he and his band don't know how to play...
Springsteen and his band did all of that and more." Martin Cizmar of The Phoenix New Times had never seen Springsteen live. "I'm not from Jersey, I didn't grow up with The Boss and I'd never seen him play before," Cizmar admits, "but I will say that nearly everything you've heard or read about a Springsteen show is true. The fans are rabid, the set marathon, Springsteen a first-rate showman."
'Working on a Dream' (Columbia Records) debuted at #1 in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and New Zealand and received exemplary reviews in Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, People, and elsewhere.

Poisoned Heart is a must-read for all those loyal Ramones fans and true music lovers everywhere.
Even if you are not a Ramones fan, you’ll love reading Poisoned Heart: I Married Dee Dee Ramone. Written by Vera Ramone King former wife of original bass guitarist, Dee Dee Ramone this book is the intimate and shocking story behind the Ramones and her years with the wildman of punk rock.
As one reviewer recently described Dee Ramone: “Dee Dee Ramone defined the punk-rock lifestyle. Rash, often violent, and plagued by his addictions and his own demons, Dee Dee was also a brilliant music pioneer who lived and breathed his art and found his greatest joy playing live for ecstatic fans. Stripping rock n' roll to the basics – three chords, a blaring guitar, chaotic rhythms and often mindless lyrics, the Ramones took the 70's by storm.”
Poisoned Heart has dozens of never-before seen photos and never told till now stories that dig deep into the drama surrounding Dee Dee’s first heroin overdose while filming Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, the chaos behind the recording the End of the Century album with Phil Spector, and of course the tumultuous events that led to the band’s inevitable breakup.
In the following interview Vera Ramone King discusses with THE MAC WIRE how the book came about and what her life is like now.
I understand a consulted with a psychic. Is that what drove you to write Poisoned Heart?
Actually, Linda Drake is NOT a psychic. She is a channelor. Someone like John Edwards, who can channel loved ones to us from the other side after they have passed on. I don't normally seek this sort of thing out but she was very highly recommended to me, and I was told to contact her that it might give me some inner healing that I so badly needed.
How did your story come to the attention of Phoenix Books?
After the manuscript had been condensed and put into print in a book form, I got a great agent who REALLY loved my book. She then shopped it to several different publishers till we found the right fit and that turned out to be Phoenix Books in Los Angeles. There was an immediate connection and I had the best editor to work with who allowed me to tell MY story in MY own words and NOT have it sound like someone else. THIS was VERY important to me.
What is your life like now in Florida married to a non rock and roll guy compared to how it was when you were married to Dee Dee?
I Love my life and after finally getting off the roller coaster and the daily rock n' roll soap opera that I had been used to for so long, I had forgotten what it was like to live a peaceful and somewhat normal existence. I don't think I would have survived another 10 years of that and probably would not be here today sharing my story with you or let alone, think about writing a book.
How do you think you assimilated into the Ramones "family"—did you enjoy touring with them?
To say that I didn't enjoy touring with my extended RAMONES family would not be truthful. We traveled all over the world and when your young and in love, to be able to experience something like that is a memorable experience and I wouldn't change it for the world, despite everything I wouldn't change a thing! My life's experiences are what made me who I am today. So, no regrets!
What do you hope the reader will learn from your story?
I don't think I'm preaching any lessons to be learned to anyone or giving advice in any way. I'm just telling MY story and let the reader take it for what's it's worth to them. So far, every person I have spoken with has asked me different questions about what I went through. This tells me that each reader has gotten something different out of the book than the next person. Each story has struck a different chord with a different reader. There are the people that knew can and us both relate exactly to what I'm saying because they were there. Then there are the diehard RAMONES fans who ONLY knew what they read and that was mostly crazy, drug stories when there was SO much more to the man than anyone ever told. He was the whole package and he had many wonderful qualities that I felt he should also be remembered for.
Do you plan on writing a second book?
Not at this time. But never say NEVER. I didn't expect to write this one in the first place but it has truly been very therapeutic and allowed a part of myself to heal from within and I'm glad I did it.
How do you see yourself five years from now?
After you read the end of the book, I can only say that I take one day at a time and am grateful each day that I have been given because life itself is a gift and we should never take it for granted. Life as you know it can be changed in a heartbeat, so just appreciate what you have and whatever will be will be. You can't change destiny.
Thanks so much Vera and we wish you great success!
Thank you for letting me share my story with you and your readers. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Vera Ramone King will be signing copies of Poisoned Heart on June 8th at Barnes and Noble in Tribeca. The time is 7PM and address is 97 Warren Street, New York, NY 10007; phone 212-587-5389. Also be sure to check out Vera's myspace page www.myspace.com/veraramoneking!

(ET)—Adam Lambert was considered by many to be the "American Idol" frontrunner this season, so the fact that he finished second to Kris Allen came as a surprise to many, but it is not a problem for the 27-year-old from San Diego, CA.
"I know it sounds cliché, but I really feel that I won by getting to the finals," he says. "To me, it wasn't about the title. It was the experience. I was able to use 'American Idol' as a platform, and now, I have a career. So, there is no need to dwell on the negative. We should look forward and be excited about an album and the rest of my career."
BURLINGTON, Vt.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—The people have spoken. After launching a one-week, limited edition flavor to recognize Sir Elton John’s first trip to Vermont and to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), Ben & Jerry’s has heard enough. Fans of Elton John’s music and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream literally sent hundreds of supportive e-mails and many more phone calls to Ben & Jerry’s Vermont headquarters calling for the return of the popular flavor.
“It’s been one of the most amazing things,” said Co-Founder Jerry Greenfield. “We’ve seen fans who’ve been excited before about a flavor and cool partnerships, but this has been something else.”
Undoubtedly, John’s decades of music making, multiple Grammy’s, an Academy Award, a Tony Award, a Kennedy Center Honor, and even knighthood from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, has brought some considerable clout to the partnership.
“There was only one way we could honor Sir Elton in true Ben & Jerry’s fashion,” said Greenfield. The company produced a custom flavor consisting of ‘an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks.’ And the name —Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road— is a play on one of Elton John’s most popular song titles.
"I am so grateful to Ben & Jerry’s for their commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS and for extending the Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road ice cream flavor to a national audience," says Sir Elton John. "A portion of the proceeds generated from this project will help support the life-saving work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF).”
The ice cream company, known as a global leader in social responsibility, has been flattered to work with Sir Elton and his Foundation. The partnership will focus on enhancing awareness of EJAF’s work, including cross promotion and a membership drive for EJAF. The Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road flavor will be available in a limited-batch on shelves of leading retailers from mid-May through summer 2009. The flavor is currently available in Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops nationwide, trumpeting another pun of one of Elton John’s famous songs, claiming “The Batch Is Back!”
The Bob Dylan Show Announces All-Star Roster for the 2009 Ballpark Tour
BOB DYLAN & HIS BAND, JOHN MELLENCAMP, WILLIE NELSON
(johnmellencamp.com)—Bob Dylan has just announced an ambitious lineup for this year’s summer concert tour. Along with fellow troubadour Willie Nelson, this summer, The Bob Dylan Show will also feature John Mellencamp, marking just the second time in the past 24 years that these three performers have shared the concert stage. Since first embarking on a tour of minor league baseball parks in 2004, over a half-million fans have come together to spend a night under the stars. With free admittance for children*, these tours draw a multi-generational fan base rarely seen on the concert circuit, causing one reporter to describe it as, “more like a backyard party than a rock concert.” The Boston Globe ranked the tour amongst “the most relaxed, enjoyable shows of the year. “You Can’t Beat Fun At The Old Ballpark,” came a headline from the Chicago Sun Times. Besides performing over 100 concerts each year for the past 15 years, Bob Dylan drops into millions of households each week with his highly popular satellite radio program Theme Time Radio Hour. In recent years, he has also received the big-screen treatment, courtesy of film director Martin Scorcese, with the critically acclaimed release of No Direction Home, the first feature-length film biography of Bob Dylan. Prior to that, he spent over 20 weeks on the New York Times best seller list with the publication of Chronicles: Volume One, the first in a series of the artist’s self-penned personal histories. In between these high-water marks, Bob has earned multiple Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Kennedy Center Honor (the highest honor of artistic achievement given in the United States). As a recording artist, he continues to hit the long ball. After debuting at #1 with his last record, Modern Times, Bob Dylan is about to release a brand new studio album on April 28 through Columbia Records. Entitled Together Through Life, it has already received 4-star reviews from MOJO, The London Telegraph and the New York Times. Over the course of a career that has spanned more than 30 years, John Mellencamp, consummate songwriter and performer, has released 23 albums with worldwide sales of over 40 million units while amassing 22 Top 40 hit songs. In 2008, the same year he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Life Death Love and Freedom, was issued which Rolling Stone called “one of the most compelling albums of Mellencamp’s career” and placed it among the top 5 albums of the year. Mellencamp's ties to Willie Nelson date back to 1985, the year they joined forces to mount the first Farm Aid benefit concert that also featured a stellar set from Bob Dylan. Mellencamp and Bob Dylan have been friendly for the past 25 years. Besides rallying his friends each year to support Farm Aid, Willie Nelson is quite possibly the most prolific recording artist in any genre of music. In the past five years alone he’s released no less than a dozen records, and when he’s not in the studio recording new albums, he fills time writing books, acting in feature films and generally keeping a pace unimaginable for someone half his age. It’s a wonder he even finds the time to tour.
Q: What are your feelings about the tour?
JM: I grew up listening to Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson! Their songs and records were in my house from when I was pre-teen. So I'm really proud and happy to be on tour with these two artists. Very few people get to grow up and go out and tour with guys they've admired for so long.
Q: What can you say about your part of the show?
JM: We're going out there with the full band and we'll be playing material from over the past 30 years--a combination of new and old material including songs from "Life Death Love and Freedom" and songs that haven't been recorded yet. We'll be playing for about 75 minutes each night.—To read more, click here.

ET's Thea Andrews was backstage with Kris Allen on Wednesday night moments after he was crowned the season eight "American Idol".
"I feel great," Kris says. "For me, every week I've been shocked pretty much this week just as much as any other. I feel like Adam deserves this just as much as I do, but it's cool to be here. This is kind of fun, you know. You've got to take all this stuff along with having a music career, and that's exciting."Posted using ShareThis
