A rare amplifier used by George Harrison during the recording of the classic Beatles albums Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is set to hit the auction block next month.
The amp, a Vox brand UL730 model amp and cabinet, was recently connected to Harrison when a repair found his named carved into the inside. According to, the amp's owners did more research and confirmed that it was in fact the late Beatle's amp and was used on both albums.
"Very few amps used by The Beatles have come to auction before, and to find one that was used on two such significant albums is truly rare and exciting," said Stephen Maycock, a rep from the Bonham's Auction house.
The amp is expected to fetch between $80,000 and $110,000. A "to do" list penned by John Lennon will also be sold in an upcoming auction.
