Top Five Embarrassing Surgeries Celebs Don’t Want You to Know About

We like to think of the rich and famous as flawless – at least, they would like us to think they are… They are, right? Actually, they are anything, but. Ironically, these people who make their living off of being beautiful (Um, can someone say the Kardashians?) typically end up doing everything they can to hide their incredibly human flaws.
Most think of celebrities as abusing plastic surgery but many do not realize the variety of other embarrassing types of surgeries these very real celebrities undergo and would be horrified if their public found out about them.  So what starts out our list of the top five incredibly embarrassing surgeries our beloved, but not-so-perfect celebrities would hate for us to know about?
#5 – Hair Transplant Surgery – OK, OK, this is borderline cosmetic. With all the fake bosoms floating around Hollywood, it’s about time someone gave the men a hard time. And not just any men – beautiful men have had a little work done, too.
For instance, heart throbs: Matthew McConaughey, Jeremy Piven and the incredibly dreamy Jude Law. Sure, nothing’s been proven. We’ve seen the photos, though, and we ask you to be the judge.
#4 – Excessive Sweating Surgeries – Gross. Of course, one would think that these perfect, photo-shopped celebrities don’t even have the ability to sweat; however, all evidence to the contrary. Indeed they do sweat and sometimes it’s a little more than we can handle.
Did you know that there’s a surgery for excessive sweating? It’s called a hyperhidrosis surgical treatment and it’s probably been used and abused by nearly every celeb to walk the red carpet. Botox injections are inserted into the armpits to obstruct the sweat from coming out.
Beautiful women such as the sixth richest woman in entertainment –  Matthew McConaughey, Jeremy Piven  – who has based her career on her beautiful pop voice and seriously hot body could do with some of those, along with her beautiful entertainment peer – the lovely but sweaty miss Scarlette Johanson. They could both do with one of those, don’t you think?
#3 –Colonic – With the incredible health craze that is going on these days, it’s important to take care of the bowels – at least that’s what many of the most well-known celebs have to say. Trendy and un-intrusive colon cleanses have been promoted shamelessly by some of the most glamorous Hollywood queens such as Paris Hilton, Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow and even Oprah.
While they are not so shy to tell about their trendy colon drinks, they are much more tight-lipped about any colonic procedures they may or may not have had. Certainly celebs get these embarrassing colon surgeries; however, unlike the colon cleanse drinks, they are kept on the down-low.
#4 –Urinary Incontinence Surgery – Did you think you were the only one who still pees their pants long after potty training? You’re in good company, my friend. The incredibly famous Kris Jenner along with about one in three women is right there with you in the fight against urinary incontinence.
There are several causes for urinary incontinence ranging from pregnancy, having had multiple pregnancies, high birth weight in newborns, genetics, smoking, etc.  Any celeb whose undergone surgery to help keep their pants dry certainly isn’t shouting it from the rooftops.  And until Kris Jenner stops wetting herself on her national hit reality show, it’s a safe bet that she hasn’t gotten around to getting it done just yet, either.
#5 – Last but not least, there’s hemorrhoid surgery. It’s estimated that over half of the population will have dealt with hemorrhoids in one form or another by the age of fifty. From there, the numbers sky rocket. So why is this incredibly common problem so embarrassing? It just is. That’s why when word gets out about a celeb that had to get a hemorrhoid surgery it’s kind of a big deal.
How does word get out about such an embarrassing ailment, you ask? In the case of famous American rapper, Lil’ Wayne, it was scattered all throughout his court documents that his jail sentence had to be suspended until his raging case of hemorrhoids could be surgically taken care of. This is one hemorrhoid treatment that will never be forgotten as it tops our top list of most embarrassing surgeries for celebs.

Carmine And Vinny Appice "At War"! A Show With A Lot Of Bang!

By Anne M. Raso

We were lucky enough to catch Carmine and Vinny Appice's Drum Wars at BB King's in New York and actually got to catch up with "da bros" before their highly unique show which includes flashy and not-so-flashy drumming as only these world-class sticksmen from the boogie-down Bronx. What does the Drum Wars show entail and is it really a "war"? Well, at the end of each concert there is a "show of hands" over who really won the showdown and of course Vinny and Carmine play their "greatest hits" from their respective bands like Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Rod Stewart's backing band and Beck, Bogart Appice, Ozzy's Blizzard Of Ozz and Dio. We left out a few artists, but you certainly get the idea that Carmine and Vinny have played with EVERYONE and on the only brother team on the Top Ten Drummers Of All Time List. Vinny joked with us that "we were thinking of having a voting box at the end of each show where the audience members would actually cast their ballots and mine would be big and Carmine's would be a little bigger than a box of matches but instead we just have them applaud."
We had no idea what to expect when we went to BB King's last month but we got the flashy and not-so-flashy drum moves. Yes, Vinny and Carmine throw their sticks back and forth to each other while playing their solos (and they always catch them) and but there are also brilliant drumming basics on display. For instance, at one point, Carmine simply stands up and plays a tom suspended on a strap and also just literally plays his sticks. He gets an insane amount of noise out of them, displaying his amazing raw talent for the kit--even if you take the various pieces apart and play them one by one. (In case you are curious, Carmine and Vinny are sponsored by D Drums, and they have identical kits except that Carmine prefers a metal snare drum while Vinny prefers wood.) Of course, there are rotating band members who play other instruments onstage with the Appices, and they have to meet the guys' strict criteria before hitting the stage, as well as a couple of days of rehearsals. At the BB's show, their guitarist had left his prized possession in a cab around 3PM but got it back by showtime, probably adding a lot of stress to the nervousness already surrounding him.
The show also features a lot of humor about the music business, the brother's many years in the business and just family memories. Carmine admitted from the stage that he kind of felt badly for his mom because once he got out of the house, she had to endure the constant playing by Vinny (who is 11 years younger).
There is a Drum Wars site (simply drumwars.com) where you can keep up with the tour dates which are kind of placed between the brothers' numerous other projects. It's a real labor of love, but Carmine tells us he is finally working out the final book deal details on his long-awaited autobiography which he is doing with a co-writer. He tells us that he actually did a manuscript a couple of years ago with a co-writer that did not have the right tone "since the writer was really a research writer." So he will be rewriting it and adding in things that happened in his immediate past.
The elder Appice tells us in a candid moment (not that he isn't always candid), "It tells the story of a kid from the Bronx--there were six people in one-room apartment and I was a bit of a troublemaker growing up. I was not a perfect kid and I used to run around in that park known as 'Needle Park' on the Upper West Side. I admit that I have been with 4500 women, and I have been married five times--and I talk about my current relationship with air personality Leslie Gold, who is kind of like the female Howard Stern. I did an on-air phone interview with her and fell in love with her personality, and the rest, as they say is history. I had a beautiful Japanese wife at the time but we just did not communicate well because of the language barrier. Leslie and I live together in the building that Lady Gaga's family lives in on the Upper West Side."
Carmine will be clearing up the legendary Mud Shark story (the most famous groupie tale of all time and he admits the groupie caught in the "fishy situation" with a shark was his and not one belonging to a member of Led Zeppelin, whom Vanilla was opening for at the time of this incident in Seattle in 1969). He jokes with us, "I can remember a lot of what happened in my career because I was never that into drugs, I might have been into pot but not much else."
He also talks about how Jimi Hendrix dreaded opening for Vanilla Fudge and how no promoters would mess with the band's schedule or anything else back in the day not only because of their musical prowess but because their management was mob-connected.
Be sure to check out both vinnyappice.com and carmineappice.com to keep up on their many musical ventures. We here at themacwire.com will be back for more Drum Wars, but we also will be checking out Carmine as he is a judge at upcoming Gong Shows at BB King's in Times Square--the first one is on November 1st! (We hear goofy prizes for the winners include bottles of Mr. Bubble and nights in New Jersey motels no one wants to stay in.) Advance tickets can be purchased at bbkingsblues.com and at the box office, 237 West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. We think that the Gong Show might just have as much "bang for the buck" as Drum Wars...sorry, we can't resist an obvious pun like that, LOL!

Is Cher Supportive Of Chaz Bono’s ‘Dancing’ Gig?

ABC TV
He’s the son of Cher, but don’t expect Chaz Bono to opt for wild get ups on “Dancing with the Stars.”
“I’m a little bit more conservative than she is,” Chaz told Access Hollywood Live’s Kit Hoover on Monday evening, when asked if his mom’s glitz wore off on the 42-year-old. “So [I’ll be wearing] tasteful suits, nice lines, that kind of thing.”
Chaz said he told his mother about competing on “Dancing” recently and like a typical mom, Cher had a lot of questions.
“I told her via phone and her reaction was that she thought it was cool that I was doing it and wanted to know how I felt when I started, if I was nervous – all of those things,” he said.
The famous offspring was sporting a bit of a beard at last night’s announcement and he was proud of it.
“Thank you, I appreciate it,” Chaz said when Kit said she liked his scruff. “It’s the first thing I could grow, so I’m pretty psyched about it.”
Chaz said he is looking forward to taking on the ballroom as a leading man. Read more>>

Sebastian Bach Loses New Jersey Home In Hurricane Irene

Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach says he is “in shock” over the loss of his New Jersey home. In a message posted on Facebook, Bach reveals his home of 21 years was destroyed by Hurricane Irene. The storm caused a reservoir close to the house to overflow and topple a bridge. Debris from the bridge crashed into the house and knocked it off its foundation.

“I am numb, in shock and devastated to report that my home of 21 years, my house featured on MTV 'Cribs', has been destroyed, condemned and deemed uninhabitable due to the extreme flooding courtesy of Hurricane Irene...” he wrote.

“Gone are irreplaceable items, such as my KISS Gargoyles from the 1979 tour. KISS pinball machine. Skid Row master tapes, video and audio... We will salvage what we can, of course. But how I wish there was a reason to do a box set or something before Hurricane Irene hit. Nobody cared. Now it's too late. Don't know what you got till it's gone, indeed,” Bach continued.

“What makes me happy is that my children and ex-wife are safe,” he added. “My dad's art is unharmed. No one got hurt."

Bach plans to leave New Jersey behind and move to Los Angeles.

Matt Smith Keen for Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special to be shot in 3D

The BBC One sci-fi show will celebrate its 50th birthday in November 2013 and Matt Smith claims that he hopes to be a part of it, coming up with the idea of potentially shooting a one-off special in 3D.

He told Bang: ‘I love making Doctor Who and I get to be part of that 50th year which they’ll do something mental for. You know it will be brilliant.

‘I'm interested in all the 3-D stuff. If it could be filmed for 3-D TV that would be fun, especially with 'Doctor Who', but it's very expensive. I don't know how they'd do it.’

Much confusion has surrounded the next Doctor Who series, which may be screened in two parts over 2012 and 2013.

Matt Smith is confident that he will be a part of the show whatever happens however, saying: ‘For me, it's just that I know that I'm going to shoot 14 episodes, of which I'll be in all of them. How they'll actually schedule it, I don’t know. But all I know is that we start in February.’

Ozzy Osborne Suffers For Drug Past

Reformed rock wildman Ozzy Osbourne still faces interrogation by security officers at border crossings because of his drug-fuelled past.

The former Black Sabbath frontman famously spent 40 years of his career on drink and drugs, but now he's warning fans their teenage follies can come back to haunt them.

In his column for The Sunday Times Magazine, Osbourne writes, "The trouble is... doing a stupid thing will always have a stupid result... because I got caught smoking a reefer a long time ago, I still have problems getting into and out of some countries to this day.

"A lot of us do bad things when we're young, but those of us who learnt (sic) the hard way need to teach our kids to think of the consequences..."

An Exclusive Interview With Newcomer Nicole Nirvana!

Move Over Beyonce! Nicole Nirvana's Now On The Scene!
Beyonce, Rihanna, Pink, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Fergie … some of the names that in the last several years have exploded onto the contemporary pop music scene; not only for their explosive music, but also for their visual antics. Let’s add one more to that group: Nicole Nirvana. This Washington-native is about to burst onto the music scene with a fantastic, atmospheric song called “You Just Don’t Know,” from her new album Life & Love.

Mixing vocal acrobatics with a propulsive production (from David Masterz) the record has become engaged in a bidding war of sorts in the always curious record business; always a good thing when breaking into the biz. We spoke to Nicole from her recording studio in Washington; with producer Masterz in the background.

The MacWire: You first job was at a record company, right? Record Label 60. I bet your were like a sponge soaking up all the intel you could? Nirvana: Definitely. The more I listened, the more I understood how to navigate these treacherous waters. My favorite song is Toni Braxton’s  “Unbreak My Heart” and ever since that, I knew I wanted to perform.

The MacWire: What was the first concert you ever attended?
Nirvana: Immature in DC at the old Verizon Center. I loved it.  I was bitten by the bug!

The Macwire: On the new album, Life &Love … the production is almost as noteworthy as your voice. What’s the story behind that. And, we absolutely love the track "Groove To Your Groove."
Nirvana: The production is Dave Masterz; his style fits my voice perfectly.  When we’re in the studio, we’re two parts of the same instrument.

The MacWire: I also see you’re a big Celine Dion fan. Her voice is an amazing instrument, right?
Nirvana: Celine Dion epitomizes everything as it should be for an empowering female artist. Her voice, her emotion … spot-on perfection.  I couldn’t think of a better role model.

MacWire: What’s the game plan for you right now?
Nirvana: Once we determine the best way to distribute the album, I’m going out on tour.  We’re doing a terrific show; believe me, it’ll be as atmospheric as the record. I want the audience to have as much fun as I do on stage.

The MacWire: Who else in your playlist?
Nirvana: Sade, Cher, Bell Biv Devoe, Gaga, and, Toni Braxton.  I think I have a very well-adjusted attitude to the business.  I actually have already identified 2 other acts I’d love to work with, and have Dave produce.

The MacWire: Well, there certainly hasn’t been this wealth of female-talent out therefor quite some time.
Nirvana: That’s why I think this record is coming at the perfect moment. Look at the artists who have come from the U.K. Just an amazing array of talent. In fact, I can’t wait myself to get there and perform.

Beyonce's Having A Baby

Beyonce’s show-stopping performances don’t usually happen on the red carpet…but MTV’s Video Music Awards were a different story.

The 29-year-old practically upstaged the entire event when she posed for the cameras in a beautiful orange gown cradling an adorable and budding belly bump.

That’s how the superstar announced to the world that she was having a baby.

A rep for the singer later confirmed the news to PEOPLE magazine.

But, we knew it was no joke when she performed her song Love on Top during the show and asked the crowd to stand up on their feet and feel the love that’s growing inside of her.

This will be the first child for the singer and her 41-year-old hubby Jay-Z.

The "2011 MTV Video Music Awards" Winners—Lady Gaga's Male Persona

The ladies ruled the kingdom at the "2011 MTV Video Music Awards," broadcast live from Nokia Theater L.A. Live, as Katy Perry and Adele each took home three VMA Moonmen and Lady Gaga two. Katy Perry won the biggest prize of the night, "Video of the Year," with her pop anthem, "Fireworks," as well as honors for "Best Collaboration" and "Best Special Effects" for "E.T." featuring Kanye West. Adding to her reign atop the album charts, Adele won VMAs for "Best Art Direction," "Best Cinematography," and "Best Editing." Genre and gender-defying Lady Gaga kicked off the night as her alter ego Joe Calderone with a show-stopping performance of "You and I," and later walked away with two VMAs for "Best Female" and this year's new category, "Best Video with a Message."
Lady Gaga poses as her male persona Joe  Calderone in the press room at The 28th Annual MTV Video Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre with her award for Best Female for "Born This Way.

The most explosive moment of the night belonged to hip-hop heavyweights Kanye West and Jay-Z . The duo brought funk, flare and the fireworks to the VMA stage with the worldwide television debut performance of "Otis" from their global number one album, Watch The Throne. The kings of hip-hop playfully commandeered the VMA stage with their usual royal swagger through a steady bombastic beat of flames, smoke and pyrotechnics until the patriotic climax as they proudly stood in front of the red, white and blue of a gigantic American flag in a nod to the single's cover.

Another high-octane performance came courtesy of Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo and Nayer, who transformed the VMAs into a giant dance party with this summer's mega hit "Give Me Everything." The hip-hop trio brought Miami heat to the stage with 60 dancers and a laser light spectacle that brought down the house.

The show took a soulful turn with an unforgettable VMA debut from a hauntingly beautiful Adele who performed the heart-breaking "Someone Like You" with only a piano by her side and the glow of a single spotlight. Introduced by Katy Perry, Adele left the audience breathless as she treated them to one of the most powerful voices of a generation and they responded with a standing ovation.
Chris Brown delivered a show stopper with his high-flying aerial journey through VMA history. It was a visual feast as he few from stage to stage while performing his smash dance hit "Yeah 3X" into Wu-tang Clan's "Protect Ya Neck" into Nirvana with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and, finally, "Beautiful People."
An ogling Joe Calderone returned to the stage to present Britney Spears with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The two together then introduced Beyonc, who, before starting to sing "Love on Top," confirmed pregnancy rumors by saying "I want you to feel the love that's growing inside of me." She ended the song by rubbing her belly to reveal her baby bump as a proud and expectant father Jay-Z received congratulations from the audience.

In the midst of performances from global superstar artists, the VMAs continued its legacy of introducing emerging talent. This year, the Awards show featured an explosive VMA debut from Young The Giant, who rocked and body surfed the audience with their hit "My Body," alongside a throng of screaming fans.

The emotional highpoint and poignant moment of the evening was the tribute to the late British songstress Amy Winehouse by the legendary Tony Bennett with a surprise introduction by actor Russell Brand. Bennett unveiled footage of Winehouse's final performance -- his recent recording session with her of their duet "Body and Soul" for his upcoming Duets II album. The tribute continued with Bruno Mars's triumphant performance of Winehouse's hit "Valerie." With his soaring vocals, horn section harmonies, and smooth and syncopated choreography, Mars and his band's performance was a joyous celebration of Winehouse's life and music.

The girls from the "Jersey Shore" presented the "Best Female Video Award" to Lady Gaga and, in an intergenerational twist, was joined by Academy Award(R)-winning actress Cloris Leachman, who joked that the audience shouldn't confuse her with Betty White.
Throughout the telecast British pop diva Jesse J commanded the House Artist stage as the VMA House Artist, keeping the crowd moving as she belted out her signature hits as well as a selection of other chart toppers.

Closing out the show, hip hop's hottest MC and entrepreneurial Young Money Millionaire, Lil Wayne, closed with the seductive "How to Love," before attacking the stage in full force as the band launched into a Black Sabbath riff and before ripping into "John" from his upcoming album, "The Carter IV," to be released digitally at midnight tonight.

Presenters at the"2011 MTV Video Music Awards" included Katy Perry, Miley Cirus, Paul Rudd, Shaun White, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Zoe Saldana, Kevin Hart and Victoria Justice join Jonah Hill, Rick Ross, Seth Rogen, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Odd Future, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Lautner, Drake, Joe Jonas and Jared Leto.

Madonna's Sex Book is Most Wanted

Madonna's infamous Sex book has topped a list of out-of-circulation publications literary fans most want to add to their shelves.

According to a new poll by Bookfinder.com, the Material Girl's shockingly explicit coffee table picture book is still proving popular.

The limited-edition release caused outrage in 1992 and featured the singer in a series of pornographic poses with rapper Vanilla Ice and Naomi Campbell.

Next on the most wanted list is Nora Roberts' Promise Me Tomorrow, followed by two Stephen King releases, Rage and My Pretty Pony.

Also in the top ten are Johnny Cash's Man In Black, a Marilyn Monroe biography by Norman Mailer, and Kyle Onstott'sMandingo.

Amy Winehouse's Parents Invited To Attend VMAs For Tribute

Producers of the MTV Video Music Awards are hoping Amy Winehouse's parents accept their invitation to attend the show in Los Angeles on Sunday (Aug 28) - for what is expected to be an emotional tribute to the late singer.

Tony Bennett will take to the VMAs stage for the first time since the early 1990s to honor the tragic Rehab hitmaker, who died last month (Jul11). He will introduce a tribute to Winehouse.
And her parents, Mitch and Janis, have been invited to attend the ceremony as MTV special guests.
Executive producer Dave Sirulnick tells Eonline.com, "We're still working on it. Some pieces are still coming together."

The tribute will feature never-before-seen footage of Bennett and Winehouse recording Body and Soul for his upcoming Duets II album at London's Abbey Road Studios.
