Elvis Costello Urges Fans Not To Buy His New Boxset

Elvis Costello has spoken out to his fans to tell them not to buy his new boxset, The Return of the Spectacular Spinning Songbook, because it is too expensive. The tracks were recorded over two nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, but Costello wrote on his website that the asking price is too high: "Unfortunately, we find ourselves unable to recommend this lovely item to you as the price appears to be either a misprint or a satire."

David Bowie Denies Granting Permission For Songs To Be Used In New Musical

David Bowie has denied that he has given permission for his songs to be used in a new musical. It was reported that Bowie had agreed to let his songs be used in a futuristic fantasy about his career called Heroes: The Musical.

According to Bowie's spokesman: "Neither the David Bowie Organization, nor its co-publishers EMI Music and Chrysalis, has issued a license for this performance at the O2. There are no negotiations pending for a long running musical featuring the music of Mr. Bowie."

Deep Singh, who wrote the musical, said that the production had been granted permission from the singer, according to NME. It is unclear why the show's creators and producers believed they were granted permission.

Bowie's last studio album Reality was released in 2003. Along with that, came the notion that he was "retired" from making music.

Jack Wagner: 'Finding Long-Lost Daughter is a Miracle'

Jack Wagner says he is still pinching himself after reuniting with his long-lost daughter, Kerry.

The former Melrose Place regular, 52, met 23-year-old Kerry for the first time at a November 4 concert in Boca Raton, Florida, where Wagner was performing with veteran singer Rick Springfield.

Recalling the night's events in People magazine, Wagner reveals a security guard had knocked on his dressing room door to inform him that a woman clutching an old photograph of the U.S. TV star and her birth mum had been asking desperately to see him.

He recounts, "In rushes this girl, hysterically crying. She said, 'You don't know who I am, do you?' We held each other, and I knew immediately that she was my daughter."

The actor reveals he was with the child's mother in the late 1980s, "and nine months later I got a call from her saying, 'I just had a baby girl, you're the father and she's been put up for adoption.'"

The stunned star sought legal advice and tried desperately to find the baby - but to no avail.
He says, "I was blindsided. I got hold of an attorney to see what I could do. I didn't even know if it was true. I was powerless."

But Wagner is overjoyed to have reconnected with Kerry, a dance teacher who was raised in New York, branding it "a miracle".

He adds, "She had no idea who I was. She Googled me and checked out some episodes of Melrose Place... The courage this girl has to come to my dressing room with a photo - it's amazing. This really is all about love."

Kris Humphries To Seek Annulment Instead Of Divorce

Kris Humphries reportedly wants his brief marriage to Kim Kardashian to be completely wiped off his record. Sources tell People magazine the New Jersey Nets star plans to respond to Kardashian’s divorce filing with a request of legal separation. He allegedly hopes to have the marriage annulled.
Humphries has not commented. Kardashian, 31, filed for divorce on October 31 after just 72 days of marriage. She later said that she realized she should have ended the relationship before their August 20 wedding. “I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon. I believed in love and the dream of what I wanted so badly. I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have. I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn’t know how to and didn’t want to disappoint a lot of people,” she explained in a blog post.
The ups and downs of the couple’s short lived marriage can be seen on the new season of E!’s Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

Lady Gaga Feels Destined to Life of Loneliness

Pop star Lady Gaga is convinced she's destined to a life of loneliness because her suitors quickly grow jealous of her mega success.

The Bad Romance hitmaker, who has recently been linked toThe Vampire Diaries actor Taylor Kinney, hasn't had much luck with love and Gaga feels certain her talent and creativity are to blame for her problems.

She tells Vanity Fair, "I have this effect on people where it starts out good... the attraction is initially there and it’s all unicorns and rainbows. And then they hate me.... I have an inability to know what happiness feels like with a man.

"I think what it really is, is that I date creative people and I think that what intimidates them is not my purse, it's my mind... It’s a whose-d**k-is-bigger contest. If I go to the piano and write a quick song and play it back, they are angry with how fast and effortless it is. That’s who I am, and I don’t apologize for it."

But Gaga isn't too concerned about her relationship failures - she'll always have a love affair with her fans.

She adds, "I only know the happiness of putting a smile on someone' s face from the stage."

Michael Jackson Doc Gets Maximum Sentence

A Los Angeles Court sentenced Dr. Conrad Murray to 4 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson. Four years was the maximum penalty Murray could receive. His lawyer, Ed Chernoff, asked for probation instead of jail, but Judge Michael Pastor slammed the request.
"He engaged in this money for medicine madness that simply is not going to be tolerated by me,” Pastor said.
"He violated the trust of the medical community, of his colleagues and of his patient and he has absolutely no sense of remorse, absolutely no sense of fault, and is and remains dangerous,” Pastor added.
Pastor postponed making a decision on the prosecution’s request that Murray, 58, be ordered to pay $100 million in restitution. The amount is the estimated value of Jackson’s estate had he completed the concert tour he was preparing for at the time of his death.
A jury of seven men and five women convicted Murray of involuntary manslaughter earlier this month after two days of deliberation. Prosecutor David Walgren accused Murray of “extreme criminal negligence” for administering Propofol, a powerful and dangerous anesthetic, to Jackson without proper monitoring. Jackson died on June 25, 2009 of acute Propofol intoxication. Murray waited 20 minutes after Jackson stopped breathing to call paramedics, according to witnesses.

Lady Gaga Will Be Duetting With Elton John Again

Lady Gaga has revealed that she will be working on another duet with Elton John for her upcoming album, the follow-up to this year's Born This Way.

The "Edge of Glory" singer, who collaborated with John for the track "Hello Hello" on theGnomeo and Juliet soundtrack, told U.K. chat show Alan Carr that she is looking forward to working with John again:

"My next duet, I believe, will be with Elton. I'm already working on my next album, and I played him a song that I wrote and he really loved it. I don't want to give anything away!"

Gaga—who is the godmother of Elton John andDavid Furnish's son Zachary—also sang with John at the Grammy Awards last year. She recently admitted she made a pilgrimage to the late Amy Winehouse's home in tribute to the singer, whom she was rumored to be playing in an upcoming biopic.

AUDIO FIDELITY GOES 'GOLD' WITH 24-KARAT CD REISSUES OF TWO ERA-DEFINING ALBUMS OF THE '60S AND '70S

Crosby, Stills & Nash's Legendary Debut and Gary Wright's Dream Weaver Get Deluxe Treatment on New Limited-Edition Discs
Set for December 6 Release!

Audio Fidelity, the premiere audiophile imprint, has set December 6 for its release of 24 Karat Gold CD versions of Crosby, Stills & Nash's 1969 debut album CROSBY, STILLS & NASH, and Gary Wright's 1975 THE DREAM WEAVER, it was announced by Marshall Blonstein, president of the label. The albums, which enjoyed a combined tenure of 182 consecutive weeks on Billboard's chart, will be issued as numbered, limited editions that will be retired after each set's initial run has sold out. Both will be available through online and brick-and-mortar retailers.

CROSBY, STILLS & NASH occupies a special place-both musically and historically-within the annals of American pop. Issued in May of 1969, the collection of close-harmony performances introduced one of rock's most venerated supergroups, comprised of three creative coequal partners who had left their previous groups to form a more perfect union. The album became the record of the summer of '69, garnering saturation airplay on the then-new FM radio format and spawning two Top-30 singles in Graham Nash's "Marrakesh Express" and Stephen Stills' paean to Judy Collins, "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes." By the time the trio performed at the Woodstock Festival three months later, CROSBY, STILLS & NASH was a Top-10 album on its way to a 107-week stay on the charts.

Other highlights of the album include David Crosby's bluesy "Long Time Gone," Stills' folk-rocking "49 Bye-Byes" and "Wooden Ships," a sci-fi fantasy penned by Jefferson Airplane's Paul Kantner with Crosby and Stills.  Characteristically, Audio Fidelity has paid close attention to detail in its restoration of the disc-though at least one modification has been made.  Part of the preparation of the reissue, explains Blonstein, "had to do with the 'n' in Nash's song 'Guinnevere.'  Since 1969, every vinyl, cassette and CD version of the album had it spelled with two n's.  But recently the group decided to take out the [historically inaccurate] extra 'n.'  So our CD booklet, tray card and even the original LP labels now show the title with just the one 'n.'"

Crosby, Stills & Nash retain their stature as a cornerstone act of Classic Rock radio and as progenitors of the singer-songwriter movement.  Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, the trio continues to tour and record more than four decades after the release of this landmark album.

Like Crosby, Stills & Nash, keyboardist-singer Gary Wright is often associated with a specific time and cultural place:  the mid-1970s, when popular music was frequently experimenting and pushing boundaries and an unconventional track like "Dream Weaver" could ascend to Number 2 on the singles charts.  American-born Wright released the spacey yet hook-filled THE DREAM WEAVER in June of 1975, after serving time with British rockers Spooky Tooth and contributing to George Harrison's All Things Must Pass.

Wright not only composed  and sings all the songs on THE DREAM WEAVER, he provides the bulk of the instrumentation, playing organ and electric piano, Moog synthesizer and other keyboards on the largely guitar-less album.  The title track was issued in January of 1976 and quickly became a hit, to be followed in April by the funk-infused "My Love Is Alive" (which also rose to No.2 on Billboard's song survey).  A third charting single, the more uptempo "Made to Love You," came out that September.  THE DREAM WEAVER stayed on the charts for 75 consecutive weeks, and while Wright went on to record more long-players, it remains his biggest seller and among a handful of releases that will forever conjure memories of the mid-'70s for rock aficionados of a certain age.  The title cut has been featured in such films as Wayne's World and Toy Story 3.

Founded in 2002, Audio Fidelity specializes in deluxe reissues of classic popular-music recordings for the audiophile and collector markets. The Camarillo, California-based label is best known for its 24-Karat Gold CDs and its 180-gram virgin-vinyl album editions, as well as a line of popular DVD titles.  Audio Fidelity emerged out of the pioneering DCC Compact Classics label that its founder, music-industry veteran Marshall Blonstein, started in 1986, following his tenure as president of Island Records and co-founder of Ode Records (where he helped make Carole King's Tapestry one of the best-selling albums of all time and built the cult-film franchises The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke).

Cher And Nicki Minaj Start, End Mini Twitter Feud

Cher and Nicki Minaj were embroiled in a short-lived Twitter feud last week.

Minaj's fans (who call themselves Barbs or Team Minaj) began the feud by tweeting that the "Pink Friday" singer had made fun of Cher in a lyric for her song "Did It On 'Em."

One of the first tweets directed towards the iconic diva read, "@cher did you know thatb***h @NICKIMINAJ dissed you in her song DIDITONEM." The 65-year-old Oscar-winner then replied on Twitter, "Ive seen lots of people come & go! Nobiggie!"

The argument escalated when Minaj's friendScaff Beezy added that the lyric was not actually an insult, noting, "yo @cher listen to the words b4 you say dumb s**t on twitter . . .do you know what a rap metaphore [sic] is??? TM is a cult you dont want it with!!"

Cher then retracted her previous comment: "U R right! Someone said I was dissed..I've been dissed b4,but instead of finding out I just got defensive ! I should know better."

Minaj, who had stayed out of the argument until nearly the end, Tweeted "stop" at Cher. Cher later deleted her defensive Tweets.

Hathaway, 28, began dating Shulman, an actor, in 2008 shortly after splitting from Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri, who was arrested for running a real estate scheme. Miley Cyrus Admits To Smoking “Way Too Much F—King Weed”

Another birthday, another scandal for Miley Cyrus. While celebrating her birthday last year, Cyrus was filmed smoking salvia, a legal herb, from a bong. This year, a video of Cyrus’ 19th birthday party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel shows the singer calling herself a “stoner” and admitting she smokes “way too much f**king weed.”

Cyrus’ comments came after longtime friend Kelly Osbourne presented her with a Bob Marley birthday cake. "This is amazing," Cyrus said. "You know you're a stoner when your friends make you a 'Bob Marley' cake. You know you smoke way too much f––ing weed."

Osbourne then jokes about Cyrus’ salvia incident at her 18th birthday. "I thought salvia was your problem, Miley,” she said.

Shortly after The Daily posted the video of Cyrus’ comments, Osbourne tried to pass off the entire incident as a joke. "let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE!" Osbourne tweeted. "the cake was also A JOKE! it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!"

Cyrus’ rep also insisted the singer was joking. “The cake was a joke and Miley was being sarcastic. It is being completely taken out of context,” the rep told Access Hollywood.

Sugarland Being Sued Over Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse

The victims and families of those killed in the Indiana State Fair stage collapse have filed a lawsuit against those associated with the production of the show which includes Sugarland.

The August 13 tragedy injured 44 people and left seven dead after strong 60 mph winds ripped down the stage and smashed into the crowd just before Sugarland was about to perform. According to the suit, the band had the final say on whether or not the show would go on. Attorneys representing at least 20 law firms throughout Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky filed the complaint citing breach of reasonable care to the victims. One plaintiff is seeking amends based on the fact that the accident could have been prevented. Others are asking for help with medical bills and other expenses due to the tragedy.

The lawsuit names stage riggers, producers and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush as the ones to blame for not providing a safe concert experience and by not cancelling the event when the weather turned bad.

Justin Bieber & Usher Stop Traffic In New York

Justin Bieber served up a Thanksgiving treat for fans in New York on Wednesday (Nov 23) by performing with his mentor, R&B superstar Usher, in the heart of Manhattan.

The teenage pop sensation brought traffic to a standstill around Rockefeller Plaza as police closed off roads due to the huge crowds of fans who had braved the rain in a bid to get as close as possible to the Baby hitmaker.

And Bieber did not disappoint - he opened the special TV performance for U.S. breakfast show Today with Never Say Never and brought a little festive cheer to the city as he introduced his mentor Usher to the stage for a rendition of their festive duet The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).

He also performed Mistletoe and other tracks from his hit holiday album Under The Mistletoe.

The star's outdoor concert drew the biggest crowds in the Today show's history - an estimated 9,000 people turned out for the gig, with many camping out in the cold for up to two days before the event.

Expressing his gratitude for his fans' devotion, he said, "These girls have dedication that I've never seen before, more than anybody, so they really inspire me...

"It's powerful to think that someone and so many people can love you so much, I just feel so loved."

Taking to Twitter.com after the gig, Bieber wrote, "so blessed! thank you to all the fans who camped out for days for the @Todayshow this morning!! Had to bring out big bro @UsherRaymondIV!!"

Britney Spears Longtime Love To Propose

Britney Spears’ boyfriend Jason Trawick is on the verge of popping the question, RadarOnline.com reports. A source close to the pop star says Trawick has made several visits to various jewelers looking for the perfect engagement ring.
“He has been everywhere from Tiffany to Harry Winston looking for a ring and he is close to making his final decision. Don’t expect anything too massive or obnoxious.  This ring will be classy and under 4-carats,” the source tells Radar.
Spears, 29, and Trawick, 39, have been dating since 2009. Trawick appears alongside Spears in her new music video for ‘Criminal’ and is currently accompanying her on the South American leg on her Femme Fatale tour.
This will be the third marriage for Spears. The pop star’s first marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in January 2004 was annulled after 55 hours. Spears married backup dancer Kevin Federline in September 2004 after three months of dating. They welcomed two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, before their divorce in 2007.

Dancing With The Stars Season Finale: J.R. The Big Winner

Last night’s season finale of Dancing with the Stars took a surprising turn in the final elimination, leaving the season’s dark horse pitted against a longtime fan favorite.
The night’s first elimination saw early frontrunner and judge’s favorite Ricki Lake sent to the sidelines. Lake’s departure left late bloomer Rob Kardashian to battle frontrunner J.R. Martinez for the mirror ball trophy. Kardashian emerged with the higher scores of the night, but he couldn’t garner the votes to win against Marintez. Martinez, an Iraqi war veteran turned actor, won the mirror ball trophy.
“First and foremost, I want to thank everybody who voted for us for 10 weeks. Thank you America for believing in us,” Martinez said.
Talking to partner Karina Smirnoff, the 28-year-old said, “I’m so grateful that I was able to be part of your first mirror ball trophy. She deserves it ... the fact that I was able to be part of that journey, I'm excited about that."
Although Lake and Kardashian were sent home empty handed after weeks of hard work, neither was upset about losing to Martinez.
"I'm super thankful," Kardashian said. "This is such a crazy experience. I'm definitely not sad. I won in my book."
“I’ve loved basically every minute of this. I’ve done something that I really didn’t think I could do and for someone who is a middle-aged mom, I hope I made my children proud, my fiance and my family,” Lake added. "J.R. and Karina really deserved to win. And Rob and Cheryl, I'm so impressed with them both, so it's great to be among the three best."

Elton John To Duet With Lady Gaga Once Again

Elton John will be joining forces with Lady Gaga again on her next album, the follow-up to this year's Born This Way.

The "Edge of Glory" singer—who collaborated with John for the track "Hello Hello" on the Gnomeo and Juliet soundtrack—told U.K. chat show Alan Carr that she is looking forward to working with John again:

"My next duet, I believe, will be with Elton. I'm already working on my next album, and I played him a song that I wrote and he really loved it. I don't want to give anything away!"

John and Gaga performed at last year's Grammy Awards, and Gaga is the godmother of John's and David Furnish's son Zachary. Late last year, the pop icon revealed that he no longer wanted to compete with new pop stars, claiming he was no longer able to pen pop songs himself:

"I'm at that stage where I don't think I can write pop music anymore. I can't sit down and do a proper rock song. [. . .] I like to do my little side-projects like Scissor Sisters and have fun, but I don't think Elton John will be putting any pop singles out."

Step Inside Lady Gaga's Grotto!

Now this really is a Santa’s grotto with a difference! When we first found out that Lady Gaga was set to have her very own festive workshop at Barneys department store in New York, we thought that it probably wouldn’t be your average Christmas offering – and as it turns out, we were right…

Wearing a snowy white Chanel ballgown, Gaga unveiled her pop-up shop at the store on Madison avenue, and the Marry the Night singer looked like an angel on top of a Christmas tree!

The 25-year-old cut the ribbon (with some pretty crazy scissors) which signalled the opening of her Workshop, before stepping inside to check it out for herself.

Designed by the Lady herself, in collaboration with designer friend Nicola Formichetti, the workshop contains everything you could possibly need for Christmas – from Gaga inspired sweets to bizarre books…

For Gaga’s Little Monsters, that might be the best holiday present ever…for the rest of us, it’s just nice that she’s helping us all get into the Christmas spirit! Any one fancy a last-minute trip to New York?

Katy Perry Says “Hell No” To Pregnancy Rumors

Although Katy Perry has admitted that having babies is “one of the reasons” she married Russell Brand, the singer recently made it clear that children are not in her near future. Talking to the media at the American Music Awards, Perry shot down pregnancy rumors and explained that any apparent “baby bump” is only weight gain due to her love of fast food.
"Hell, no!" Perry said when asked about any baby news.
"I like In-N-Out Burger and Taco Bell and if you want to make that pregnant that's your problem," she said. "I still love drinking alcohol so not yet."
Perry, 27, and Brand, 36, wed in India in 2010 after a year of dating.

Sources: Kris Humphries Verbally Abused Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is not to blame for the breakdown of her 72 day marriage, insiders tell Us Weekly magazine. According to friends of the reality star, the blame should be placed on Kris Humphries because his verbal abuse was what drove Kardashian to file for divorce.
"He belittled her in front of people. He'd call her stupid. It was truly sickening,” an insider claims.
"He tried to control Kim by bringing her down...He would say truly terrible things. One time, he said she had no talent and her fame wouldn't last,” the insider tells Us.
Humphries also allegedly called Kardashian a “fat ass” and refused to spend quiet nights at home, opting instead to spend his nights clubbing in New York and Los Angeles. When Kardashian asked him to stay home, another source says the basketball star “would tell her she was acting like too much of a wife and ‘get over it.’”
Neither Kardashian, 31, nor Humphries, 26, have commented.
