Michael J. Fox Turned to Alcohol to Cope With Illness

Michael J. Fox discovered he had Parkinson's disease in 1991 and confesses he turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows.

He tells Parade magazine, "For a time I dealt with it with alcohol, which turned out to be a disaster. I'd always been kind of a partier, but this was the first time I was drinking in order not to feel something. It had a dark purpose."

The actor eventually quit drinking for good and now Fox credits his wife of 23-years, Tracy Pollan, with helping him get sober.

He continues, "About a year after my diagnosis, I woke up one morning and saw (wife) Tracy's face...She said, 'Is this what you want?' Instantly I knew - no, this isn't what I want or who I am. So I quit drinking in '92.

"I recognized I had choices about drinking, and that made me realize I had choices about Parkinson's as well... Acceptance doesn't mean resignation; it means understanding that something is what it is and that there's got to be a way through it."

Fox has been a longtime Parkinson's disease advocate and in 2000 he founded The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which funds research programs in the hopes of finding a cure.

TMZ Reports: Britney Spears Sells Beverly Hills Home for $4.2M

Britney Spears sold her Los Angeles home for a massive $4,253,000 so she can move in with her fiance Jason Trawick, TMZ reported Friday.

The pop star made a huge profit on the exclusive Beverly Hills property, which was originally listed at $2,995,000, real estate sources told the gossip site.

She stands to make even more on the estate as there will be a hearing on the sale next month, where anyone can outbid the current offer.

The hearing is required because Spears is still under a court-ordered conservatorship, following her split from husband Kevin Federline and her subsequent public meltdown.

The troubled singer lived in the house during the ordeal and was pictured being carried out of the property strapped to a stretcher in 2008.

Lindsay Lohan Off Probation In DUI Case, Remains On Informal Probation In Theft Case

Lindsay Lohan has finally put her legal troubles stemming from two DUI arrests behind her. In a hearing on Thursday, Judge Stephanie Sautner took the troubled actress off of probation because she fulfilled all of her probation requirements in her 2007 DUI arrests.

"She has completed [her sentencing] short of a year. She has done everything that this court has asked of her," Sautner said.

Lohan is not completely out of the woods yet; she will remain on informal probation in her 2011 necklace theft case until May 24, 2014. If Lohan breaks any laws before that date, she could face up to 245 days in jail.

Saunter also gave the 25-year-old a final warning about her partying. "You need to live your life in a more mature way. Stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work. I don't expect to see you again,” she said.

"I just want to say thank you for being fair. It's opened a lot of doors for me, so I really appreciate it,” Lohan said.

Lohan’s comeback effort includes recently hosting Saturday Night Live and accepting a guest role on the third season of Glee. Lohan is also set to play the late Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime biopic. Her rep Steve Honig said she “very eager” to start on her upcoming roles.

In other Glee news, it was recently confirmed The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg will star in three episodes this May. She will play a professor who meets with Kurt and Rachel, played by Chris Colfer and Lea Michele respectively, about going to the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Meanwhile, Lohan’s acting comeback has included hosting Saturday Night Live and a possible role as Elizabeth Taylor in a TV biopic. The 25-year-old last starred alongside Danny Trejo and Robert De Niro in the 2010 action film Machete.

Peter Facinelli Files Divorce Papers Cementing His Split From Jennie Garth

Peter Facinelli filed divorce papers Wednesday, making his split from Jennie Garth official and she in turn filed her response.

Facinelli citied “irreconcilable differences” as his reason for hiring a divorce attorney, and is asking for joint custody of their three children.

Just one day after they announced their spilt, rumors of infidelity began to circulate, accusations the couple said was “hurtful” and untrue.

Garth spoke to People magazine and admitted that divorce was not her idea. She said, “I was very resistant. I didn’t want it to happen. It took me some time to come to peace with it,” adding, “You get the rug pulled out from under you.” The couple has been married for 11 years.

Facinelli was busy filming Twilight in Vancouver and Nurse Jackie in New York, so his schedule kept him away from his wife and children, living in California. Jennie said, “He would do everything he could to fly back to every weekend. (But) it took a real toll on our marriage.”

Titanic 3D: Leonardo DiCaprio Embarrassed By Titanic Performance

Leonardo DiCaprio cringed in embarrassment when he recently revisited his 1997 blockbuster Titanic.

Director James Cameron and DiCaprio's co-star Kate Winslet stepped out in London on Tuesday night for the premiere of a new 3D version of the film.

DiCaprio never made it to the red carpet, but Cameron revealed his former leading man was left red-faced when he recently re-watched the film.

Cameron said: "I wish Leo could be here but he's shooting a film.

"It would have been great for Leo to be here, to be part of the celebrations. I didn't show him the whole film but I showed him 18 minutes of it a few months ago. It was a good reunion for us but great to watch his reaction.

"He couldn't believe it. He said to me, 'I'm such a young punk. Look at me.' He was practically crawling under the seat. It was a good moment."

Celebrity Drug Addiction: Burt Reynolds' Addiction

Famous Hollywood actor and American Icon Burt Reynolds was admitted to the Hanley Center in Florida last month after a traumatic fall at his home in Hobe Sound. He was found by the house assistant lying in a pool of his own blood and was quickly transported to the hospital in West Palm Beach. Reynolds later confessed that the fall had been cause by continuous usage of prescription opiates which had caused him to lose balance and fall, causing a large gash. Upon admission, doctors became concerned about his mental state and he was sent to the county mental health facility in West Palm Beach. Supposedly, the facility refused to release him unless he agreed to go immediately into a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program.

Reynolds had admitted to increasing abuse of prescription drugs, mainly painkillers, as well as developing a reliance on sleeping aid Halcion after turning to the drug to ease the terrible pain he felt from temporomandibular joint disorder in the 1980′s. At this point, Reynolds had realized he had become a prisoner of prescription pills, and agreed that Drug Rehab would help restore his life. However, Reynolds insists that he had began abusing the prescription drugs after undergoing painful surgery on his back, and had lost control of his addiction soon thereafter.

The story of Burt Reynolds becoming addicted to pain killers after painful surgery is an all too common tale. The amount of prescription medications being distributed in this country, whether they be opiates, anti-anxiety meds, or medical marijuana all have an effect on the people they are prescribed to, and ultimately could very well begin a chemical dependency. If you think you may have a drug addiction, one of the best decisions you will ever make is to seek the help of a professional Drug Treatment facility. Like Burt Reynolds, even the strongest people are no match for the addictive effects of prescription drugs. Affordable Drug Treatment is more easily attainable that many people think, and could very well be the best investment you will ever make, because you are investing in yourself and your future.

Reynolds was discharged from the Drug Rehabilitation Center earlier this week after completing a 30-day Drug Treatment Program, and plans to go public with his personal struggle to help ease the stigma surrounding drug addiction. In a statement, he says; “I felt that in spite of the fact I am supposedly a big tough guy, I couldn’t beat prescription drugs on my own. I’ve worked hard to get off of them and really hope other people will realize they need to seek professional help, rather than ignoring the problem or trying to get off of the prescriptions on their own.” Reynolds urges others suffering similar addictions to learn from his experience and to reach out for help from professional Drug Treatment Programs to help kick their habits, because sometimes it is too tough to do alone.

On this special night, please donate whatever you can afford, large or small (cash only, please), to help fill our “wrecking ball” against hunger and illness.

We invite you to bring your Bruce Springsteen mementos, photos, t-shirts, posters, books, ticket stubs, albums and especially your Bruce stories and memories to share with other fans who have appreciated Bruce Springsteen’s appearances in the Philadelphia area since 1973. Springsteen cemented his long-standing ties to the city with his Academy Award-winning song “The Streets of Philadelphia”. From famous and historic Philly-area shows at The Tower Theater and The Main Point to Bruce’s record setting performances including his final four concerts at the gone-but-not-forgotten Spectrum arena in October 2009, Philadelphia has a special place in the hearts of Springsteen fans.

Come meet local photographer Art Reilly. Art has been a Bruce Springsteen fan since 1972 and photographed him in concert at historic venues such as Widener College, Kutztown State College, and The Roxy Theatre in Manayunk. Art also worked with MacAvoy Stage Lighting on Marc Brickman’s crew as Assistant LD for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band on the road from 1972 through 1974. He also has photographed The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and more. Some of Art’s Bruce photos have appeared in the Springsteen book For You: Original Stories and Photographs by Bruce Springsteen’s Legendary Fans.

Also meet Lawrence Kirsch, professional music photographer for seventeen years andpublisher of the Springsteen book For You: Original Stories and Photographs by Bruce Springsteen’s Legendary Fans. Lawrence also pioneered the “Springsteen Memories Roadshow” concept with a successful Boston event last November and more events planned this year for various locations, including the Philadelphia Roadshow. Lawrence will be signing copies of the limited edition book The Light in Darkness, which serves as an unofficial companion volume to Bruce’s box-set The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story. The Light in Darkness will be available for sale during the evening at McFadden’s on April 21.

Backstreets, the premier Springsteen fan magazine/website, is a proud sponsor of the Philadelphia Springsteen Memories Roadshow and a Backstreets representative will be on hand for this special event.

From Philadelphia photographer Phil Ceccola to early Springsteen supporter and radio personality Ed Sciaky, Philadelphia has an incredibly rich history in documenting the career ofBruce Springsteen. Come join us for an evening of Bruce Springsteen memories and discover fans and friends who have the same passion as you! A limited number of Philadelphia Springsteen Memories Roadshow commemorative posters also will be distributed to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lady Gaga Honored at GLAAD Awards

Lady Gaga and Dancing With The Stars were among the winners at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Awards over the weekend.

The Poker Face hitmaker has long campaigned for equal rights and she was named the Outstanding Music Artist for her hit album Born This Way.

Dancing With The Stars, which Cher's transgender son Chaz Bono appeared on last year, was named Outstanding Reality Program at the New York prizegiving, which was hosted by Glee stars Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera.

The producers of new musical series Smash received the top honor, the Vito Russo Award, which is named after the gay activist.

Producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan stepped onstage to accept the honor and Zadan declared being gay was "part of who I am, so it impacts the work that we do."

Meanwhile, Harvey Weinstein presented high school student Katy Butler with a special honor for her anti-bullying efforts.

Butler has been spearheading a campaign to convince censors at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to lower the R-rating of Weinstein's upcoming documentary Bully to PG-13, thereby allowing youngsters to see the film in theaters.

Other winners at the GLAAD Media Awards included independent film Pariah (Outstanding Film In Limited Release), HBO'sCinema Verite (Best TV Movie Or Miniseries Award), and Oprah Winfrey (Best Talk Show Episode).

Katy Perry Tops British Charts

Katy Perry has ended Australian singer Gotye's reign over the U.K. singles chart, scoring her third number one with Part Of Me.

Gotye has dominated the top of the pops for the past four weeks, but he's slipped down to three on the new countdown. His catchy tune Somebody That I Used To Know featuring Kembra sits behind dancehall star Sean Paul's latest track, She Doesn't Mind.

Meanwhile, veteran rocker Paul Weller has scored his fourth solo number one at the top of the U.K. albums chart with his 11th studio release, Sonik Kicks.

Dance DJ David Guetta's Nothing But The Beat lands second place, while last week's most popular album, Military Wives' In My Dreams, falls to third.

Woman Breaks Into Simon's Cowell's Home

A woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into Simon Cowell's west London house over the weekend.

Leanne Zaloumis reportedly entered the house in the posh area of Holland Park via a downstairs window and roamed the property before coming face-to-face with the music and reality show mogul, who was relaxing watching TV.

She was apprehended by members of Cowell's security team as police were called to investigate the crime, and is currently being held in custody on one count of aggravated burglary.

Confirming the news, a spokesman for Scotland Yard says: 'Police were called at approximately 11:35 pm on Saturday, March 24th, to reports of a disturbance.

"Officers attended the address and found a woman had forced entry to the premises. She was arrested and taken to a west London police station where she remains. A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary."

The woman, who is not thought to have stolen anything from The X Factor judge's home, is due to appear before a judge at West London Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A source tells DailyMail.co.uk, "It was a frightening experience. Simon’s fine but shaken up - because he didn’t expect something like that to happen."

The Hunger Games Tops The Box Office

The action movie slayed the competition in its debut weekend, grossing $155 million.

The Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, became the most popular midnight opener ever for a non-sequel when it debuted in the U.S. with a stunning $19.7 million in the early hours of Friday, and its winning streak continued throughout the weekend.

The whopping opening weekend takings have catapulted The Hunger Games in to the record books once again, making it the biggest non-sequel film to ever open at number one.

It is now also the third best opener of all time, only falling behind last year's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and 2008 Batman film The Dark Knight, which raked in $169.2 million and $158.4 million respectively.

Cop comedy 21 Jump Street and Dr. Seuss' The Lorax round out the top three spots on the new U.S. box office chart.

Meanwhile, The Hunger Games, the first movie adaptation of author Suzanne Collins' books, also struck gold at the global box office, grossing $214.25 million outside the U.S.

One fan said, "It was on display very briefly but caused a big stir in the car community."

The Fest For Beatles Fans--"A Splendid Time Is Guaranteed For All!"

Photos and text by Anne M. Raso

We here at THE MAC WIRE were lucky enough to pop in at The Fest For Beatles Fans (which runs through tomorrow night). This most famous of Fab Four celebrations is at the Crowne Plaza, Meadowlands (in Secaucus, NJ) and is proudly celebrating their 38th year, thanks to promoter and founder Mark Lapidos--pictured  with Micky and Donna Dolenz!
We really dig the panels and the Meet The Special Guests event with The Monkees' Micky Dolenz (one of the great '60s rock and roll storytellers of all time), former Wings members  Denny Seiwell and Henry McCullough and Ringo Starr solo producer Mark Hudson. Sadly, legendary producer (and Paul McCartney's almost-brother-in-law) Peter Asher could not make this Friday night panel, but he came for events today (Saturday, 3-24) and tomorrow (Sunday, 3-25). Martin Lewis is moderating all the discussions and his famous for being a Beatles scholar and humorist. We have to be honest and say that we like him because he reminds us of a hipper version of celebrity judge Piers Morgan (seen at far right in photo below).

But of course, it is always Mark Hudson who makes everyone laugh the hardest at the Fest although the story about Harry Nilsson coming to his rescue when he was down-and-out and going through a divorce was a real tearjerker! He was happy to pose with fans and even had adorable handmade dolls of himself at his table--they're gorgeous and he really does make them himself!
We enjoyed the panel, and the highlight for us were Dolenz talking about sitting in on the Sgt. Pepper sessions (he actually stayed at Macca's famous Maida Vale house in London) while he was trying to escape the whole Monkees taking control of their own recordings controversy...as well as the first time he ever heard of the Beatles in 1963 when he was driving down Van Nuys Boulevard in LA to a bad summer job--and a local radio station started announcing they would have a special Beatles day. Dolenz also dazzled with other surprising info on his career--including the fact that Frank Zappa wanted him to hire him as the drummer for The Mothers Of Invention shortly after The Monkees went off the air.
"The Mick" also did a signing that had one of the longest lines we had ever seen. There was about 200 people in line less than five minutes after Meet The Special Guests panel was over at 9:30 PM, and he was unsure if he could get to them in the 90 minutes slotted. He will be doing more signings this weekend as well as a fan Q&A session at 5:50 tonight (Saturday, 3-24)--followed by a performance at 9:15 with Liverpool, one of the best Beatles cover bands ever. Mark Hudson will also lead an all-star jam a little later in that set. By the way, if you meet up with Denny Seiwell at the Fest, you will probably get a glimpse of his awesome vintage Beatles boots--he bought them for three pounds in 1964 and has managed to keep them in mint condition.
Finally, we need to comment that there is always a Beatles singalong going on in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza during the Fest (including impromptu go-go dancing by male and female Beatles fans alike). You can bring your own instruments if you'd like!

The memorabilia for sale at the Fest is insane--you can find anything from Beatles Hairspray to Butcher Block albums in all sorts of condition. The Rockaway Records stand has more Bucther Blocks than we have ever seen in one place in every condition depending on what your budget is. There are super-rarities there like the only Let It Be album printed on clear vinyl.
There are also plenty of Monkees items, and plenty of Beatles authors with tables. Bruce Spizer--whom we met in front of the Hard Rock Cafe during Ringo's 70th birthday party there--has all his books with him to sign including his excellent new coffee-table sized tome called Beatles For Sale On Parlophone Records. It's his seventh book and includes photos of much of his private Beatles memorabilia collection! There was also a 60s Dress Up Contest--and we thought it was adorable that this lady made matching outfits out of Yellow Submarine fabric for her and her toddler daughter.
For more info on the Fest, go to www.thefest.com. Tickets today and tomorrow are $45 per day for adults.

Whitney Houston Died From Accidental Drowning

Whitney Houston  died as a result of accidental drowning, in addition to the affects of heart disease and cocaine use, a coroner has ruled.
The soul superstar's body was found underwater in the bathtub of her Los Angeles hotel suite on11 February (12), hours before she was scheduled to attend mentor and friend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammys party.
A number of prescription pills were found in Houston's room but an autopsy conducted the day after her passing proved inconclusive.
Houston's cause of death was deferred pending toxicology results, and the Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter subsequently requested all medical records from the singer's doctors to determine what drugs she was taking at the time of her death.
The findings of the autopsy report were released on Thursday (Mar 22) and stated that Houston's death was accidental, although she also suffered from the "effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use".
Traces of prescription drugs and marijuana were also found in her system, but are not thought to have contributed to her demise.
The report adds, "No trauma or foul play is suspected." Houston, 48, had a long history of drug addiction and twice checked into rehab to control her substance abuse.
The L.A. County Coroner's full results are not expected to be released until a later date.

'The Hunger Games' Should Become First Mega Blockbuster Of 2012

With the widest release in March history, "The Hunger Games" reaches theaters this weekend with a huge prospective audience that should help turn it into a major hit. As "The Hunger Games" scoops up a huge sector of mainstream audiences this weekend, "21 Jump Street" is still in good position to appeal to adults and "The Lorax" will likely continue its success with families this weekend. It won't get much easier for "John Carter," however, as its already depleting target demographic could jump ship for "The Hunger Games."

Launching at an eye-popping 4,137 total theaters, Lionsgate isn't being shy about pushing "The Hunger Games" into the vision of moviegoers everywhere. "The Hunger Games" also has a tremendous built-in audience due to the popularity of the book series it's based on, which should combine with positive critical buzz so far to make for a very big opening. With midnight screenings likely to be sold out, the only question right now is just how big its opening totals will be.

While March was formerly a difficult month to launch a potential blockbuster, the last six years have seen a slew of major hits that have put up mid-summer opening numbers. "Alice in Wonderland" still holds the record at $116 million domestically during its opening weekend in 2010, though it's a record that Lionsgate would love to smash this weekend with "The Hunger Games."

The only real downside for "The Hunger Games" is its PG-13 rating. Though it has a big enough fan base to potentially make this mostly a non-factor, "The Hunger Games" doesn't have the advantage of a family-friendly PG rating, which "Alice in Wonderland" had when it hit theaters in 2010. Still, "The Hunger Games" is launching at roughly 400 theaters more than "Alice," potentially giving it enough of a boost to surpass the March record.

Mike Sorrentino Admits To Prescription Drug Problem

After denying he was seeking treatment for addiction problems, Jersey Shore star Mike Sorrentino has admitted he is getting help for a “prescription medication problem.”

"I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion," Sorrentino wrote on his official website. "I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys."

In a statement released earlier this week, Sorrentino’s rep said the reality star was in a facility to rest. "He has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule," his rep said.

Sorrentino, aka The Situation, will soon begin filming the sixth season of Jersey Shore with castmates JWoww, Snooki, Vinny, Ronnie, Pauly D, Sammi Sweetheart and Deena Cortese. "The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the 'Shore' take off in exciting new directions," MTV says of the new season. "While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same."

We are truly honored to have Sir Patrick as our host. “

The winners of the Peabody Awards for original broadcast, cablecast and Webcast programs presented in 2011 will be announced via Webcast on April 4 from the University of Georgia.

He reprised his role as Captain Jean Luc Picard in the hit Next Generation theatrical films and portrayed Professor Xavier in the popular X-Men movie series. He has voiced characters in such animated films as Steamboy, Chicken Little, The Game of Their Lives and Bambi 2. He recently provided the narration for the natural history documentary Earth.

Universal
Actress Kristen Stewart was forced to face her fear of horses in new movie Snow White And The Huntsman after a childhood riding accident left her scarred for life.

The Twilight star, who plays the title character in the film, was required to shoot a series of her own stunts on horseback and she admits she was far from comfortable in the saddle.

Speaking to fans during a panel at last weekend's WonderCon event in Anaheim, California, she said, "I got to jump off cliffs and ride horses, and that terrifies me. I was really, really not happy about having to do all that (horseback riding). I don't like that - I hate that."

"I hate 'em. I fell off a horse once and hurt myself really badly. I broke and dislocated my elbow when I was, like, nine."

However, Stewart reveals she did her best to bury the memory.

She added, "I just had to not think about it. I wanted so badly to do this that it was just like, 'Alright, well, if I perish by horse, that's all good.'"

Zsa Zsa Gabor's Daughter Seeks Conservatorship Order

Zsa Zsa Gabor's daughter is petitioning for the ailing actress to be placed under a court-ordered conservatorship.

Constance Francesca Hilton has filed documents at Los Angeles Superior Court requesting the independent management of her mother's medical and financial affairs.

She is asking officials to decide whether Gabor is receiving the best care she can afford and whether she is being isolated or allowed to be with her friends and family.

Hilton is also seeking a ruling on whether her mother's funds are being managed in her best interests.

Gabor is currently being cared for by her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt. She has been in and out of the hospital since breaking her hip in a fall in July 2010.

A spokesman for Hilton's legal team says, "This is not a proceeding about Ms. Hilton or Mr. Frederic von Anhalt... it is a proceeding where Zsa Zsa's best interests are in the forefront. The court will listen to the perspective of both Ms. Hilton and Mr. von Anhalt, but Zsa Zsa's best interests will control..."

"Zsa Zsa Gabor's daughter had been waiting patiently for over a year to receive medical evaluations about her mother as well as financial documents from Mr. von Anhalt showing that he is capable of caring for her mother in a healthy and financially secure environment. He has refused."

Alice Cooper Receives Honorary Doctorate At L.A.'s Music Institute

Rocker Alice Cooper was the special guest at Los Angeles' Musicians Institute on Saturday (17Mar12) as he picked up an honorary doctorate and delivered an entertaining graduation speech to students.

The veteran star was feted for his contribution to the arts with an honorary degree, the second of his career, and he joked to the audience at the famed music school, "One more of these and I can write prescriptions!"

He also addressed around 600 students to give the Commencement Speech during their graduation ceremony, and he told the audience, "First of all, the fact that I am here as your keynote speaker raises a lot of red flags. It shows an obvious lack of judgment on your part."

But Cooper got serious as he shared some words of wisdom with graduates hoping to make it in the music industry: "Mediocrity is your greatest enemy... If you're going to be in this business, don't be afraid to go out on that limb as far as you can... If you succeed, you become a genius; if you fail, you become an idiot. You can always start again."

The star subsequently posted a picture on his Twitter.com page showing him holding his certificate, adding, "That's Doctor Cooper to you!!"

MTV Confirms Jersey Shore Will Return For Another Season

MTV has confirmed Jersey Shore will return for a sixth season this year with the entire cast, including a pregnant Nicole Polizzi, on board. Filming will begin this summer in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The network has not released any other details about season six, but did hint that some changes are coming for the cast.

"The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the 'Shore' take off in exciting new directions," MTV said Monday. "While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same."

One of those “new directions” will likely include Polizzi’s impending motherhood and engagement to longtime boyfriend Jionni LaValle. The 24-year-old announced her pregnancy and engagement earlier this month.

In addition to the upcoming season of Jersey Shore, Polizzi can be seen alongside JWoww on their new spinoff show, Snooki and JWoww vs. The World.

Happy 86th Birthday, Jerry Lewis! We Attend His Party At The World-Famous Friars Club!

(All Photos And Text By Anne M. Raso, The Mac Wire Contributing Editor, Except Movie Poster Shot Courtesy Encore.)

On March 16th, the legendary Jerry Lewis just happened to do a Q and A and screening of the documentary on his life called The Method To The Madness, and we here at The Mac Wire were lucky enough to get to go to the after-reception at the world-famous Friars Club in New York City. Jerry is actually the abbot of the Friars Club and has been for several decades—and that's why it's okay to scream "Hey Abbott!" when he walks into the dining room there. (Yes, we know that's a VERY BAD joke, LOL!)

Jerry took a good long look at the gorgeous cake that depicted the story of his life from Jersey boy (he was born in Newark and graduated from Irvington High School in 1944) to gaining fame as part of Martin And Lewis, then moving on to major comedy films and being host of the MD telethon. The Carlo's Bakery crew was repped by the super-affable Mauro Castano and his lovely wife. (Mauro is Buddy Velastro aka The Cake Boss' brother-in-law in case you don't follow the funny reality series and he's a big sweetie who really knows the baking business back and forth.) Some of the details on the cake (all edible) included statues of Jerry and former partner Dean Martin and fondant borders patterned with his movie posters and famous movie scenes.

The guests poured in to hold court with Jerry. who stayed in a special roped off VIP table for most of the event. Many of them were comedy legends--after all, any comedian who's anybody is a member of the Friar's Club. Dropping in to pay their respects were Paul Shaffer, Richard Belzer, Robert Klein, David Steinberg, Joe Piscopo, Tony LoBianco and numerous others. Joe Piscopo did his best Sinatra impression in front of the Sinatra portrait hanging up by the dais and it brought back some great memories of his SNL days for us. Seems that when a veteran comedy legend is in the dining room of the Friars Club, everyone makes a bee line--and no one is more respected in the comedy business than Jerry Lewis. Richard Belzer was a big help to people trying to get different bits of Jerry Lewis memorabilia signed--bringing them back to Jerry who stayed at his table all night. (We here he doesn't "work the room" anymore due to chronic back pain--sorry to hear that--but a few determined fans did make it over to his table.)

Jerry let the staff of the Friars Clubs club cut his cake but everyone in the room sand happy birthday--Jerry had a live mic for the last couple of lines, so of course he sang those lines with the classic "Hey Lady" shtick! Everyone laughed! Jerry did not take the first piece of cake--guess he is not a superstitious birthday boy at the ripe old age of 86! (He looks about 20 years younger in person, by the way!)

It was truly a magical night heightened not only by the great cake (which the large crowd of more than 100 could only eat about 1/8th of), but by great espresso supplied by Chock Full Of Nuts and trays of Godiva truffles. It was a night for of sweets for a sweet and funny mag. In case you are curious what the inside of the magic cake was like, well there were both chocolate and yellow cake layers with very fudgy frosting in between the layers. The outside of the cake was vanilla frosting with an outer edge of dark chocolate fondant. The cake was as rich as Jerry Lewis' career. We'll never get over the great detail on the edible eight-inch-high "mini-statue" of Jerry and Dino!

Going to the Friars Club always means a night of friendly guests and staff (and world class "country club style" food), but a birthday party for Jerry Lewis--the abbot of "the joint"--is a rare occasion and something we'll remember for a lifetime.
