Miley Cyrus Responds to Joe Jonas Over Pot Smoking

Miley Cyrus has hit back at Joe Jonas after he blamed her for introducing him to marijuana when they were teenagers.

Jonas opened up about his past in a revealing article for Vulture Magazine in December and claimed Cyrus and fellow Disney star Demi Lovato had urged him to try weed.

But the Wrecking Ball singer tells the New York Times she did not force the drug on Jonas, insisting everyone is responsible for their own choices.

She says, "If you want to smoke weed, you're going to smoke weed. There's nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don't want to do. I thought maybe he (Jonas) was saying that like it was going to make him look bada**... We were so young that it's actually like 'How did you get peer pressured by me?'"

Peter Capaldi Makes Debut as Time Lord in 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special

One goes and another comes in the Christmas episode of "Doctor Who". Matt Smith left the sci-fi series in the special titled "The Time of the Doctor", which introduced Peter Capaldi as the new version of the Doctor.

[SPOILER ALERT!] After saving his companion Clara from a family dinner, the Doctor and his assistant got transported to a faraway land where clothes were banned. Smith delivered one jaw-dropping scene as he got naked, but the funny moment soon ended as the Doctor learned that he's the 13th (last) incarnation in this cycle, meaning he that he would vanish forever when he died.

The Doctor was seen aging and fighting his enemies on his own for one last time after dropping Clara back on Earth. When he's dying, Tasha, the head of the Church of the Papal Mainframe, picked Clara up on Earth to accompany the Doctor in his final moments.

The Doctor was then transformed into a new version of himself, played by Capaldi, who's also the first Doctor in the new cycle.

Pope Calls For Peace, Prayers in Annual Christmas Message

VATICAN CITY, Dec. 25 (UPI)—Pope Francis prayed from a balcony of St. Peter's Basilica before thousands for peace in Syria, Iraq and Africa during his first Christmas message as pope. The annual "Urbi et Orbi" message, "To the city (of Rome) and to the world," pointed out peace is not merely a balance of opposing forces, but "calls for daily commitment... wars shatter and hurt so many lives." The message, delivered before an audience estimated by Vatican TV of 150,000, concentrated on prayer for innocents caught in political conflict.

The Pope, 77, called for prayer to "ask the Lord to spare the beloved Syrian people further suffering and to enable the parties in conflict to put an end to all violence, and guarantee access to humanitarian aid." The message also made reference to violence in Iraq, South Sudan, Nigeria, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Horn of Africa. He ended saying: "God is peace. Let us ask him to help us to be peacemakers each day, in our life, in our families, in our cities and nations. Let us allow ourselves to me moved by God's goodness." The large turnout reflected the popularity Pope Francis has enjoyed since becoming head of the Catholic Church, CNN said, noting his down-to-earth manner has touched a chord with millions. There were a record number of requests to attend his Christmas Eve Mass at St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican said.

Four Generations at Royal Church Service

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked relaxed as they walked St Mary Magdalene Church, holding hands as temperatures stayed just above freezing.

One member of the crowd shouted: "Where's the baby?"

Wearing a tartan Alexander McQueen coat and hat by Gina Foster, Kate smiled and waved to the crowds.

She was seen curtseying to the Queen, who was wearing an orange coat, as the family attended a private service earlier in the morning.

Prince Harry, still sporting a beard from his exertions in the Arctic with the charity Walking With the Wounded, attended alone despite rumours that girlfriend Cressida Bonas might join him.

About 3000 well-wishers gathered outside the church to watch them arrive.

Before the service a pilot entertained them by drawing a smiley face, heart and kiss in vapour trails in the sky.

The service opened with a rendition of Christians, Awake followed by Once In Royal David's City.

Last year the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge missed the service, choosing to spend Christmas Day with Kate's family in Berkshire, while Prince Harry was on tour in Afghanistan.

There had been unconfirmed reports that George's grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton would attend this year. There was no sign of them but it is thought they may arrive at the estate on Boxing Day.

The royal habit of spending Christmas at Sandringham is believed to date to Queen Victoria's reign.

The family traditionally open their presents on Christmas Eve and will enjoy a Norfolk turkey with all the trimmings after the service.
