Iron Man 3 Named 2013's Highest-Grossing Movie


Iron Man 3 has been crowned the highest-grossing film of 2013 after raking in $1.2 billion at the global box office.

Robert Downey, Jr.'s latest outing as Tony Stark and his superhero alter-ego easily trumped Despicable Me 2, which claimed second place with $918.4 million.

Fast & Furious 6 raced into third with a $788.7 million haul, while Monsters University ($743.6 million) and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire ($738.3 million), which was only released last month, placed at four and five, respectively.

Others featured in the end-of-year top 10 countdown include Gravity, Thor: The Dark World and World War Z.
