Harry Styles Wins NME's Villain of the Year Award

One Direction singer Harry Styles has received NME's Villain of the Year award for the second year in a row.

The music magazine held their annual bash last night (February 26) in London as they paid tribute to the cream of music.

However, it was Styles who was honoured with the wooden spoon after being given the Villain award for the second consecutive year.

The singer took over Justin Bieber's reign in 2013 and One Direction fans will be peeved that Styles has won it again.

It wasn't all bad news for the 'Kiss You' group, however. The quintet avoided winning the Worst Band award for the third year running, with that dubious honour instead going to The 1975.

Among the other winners were Arctic Monkeys, who bagged an impressive five gongs on the night.

Ellen DeGeneres: On Her Favorite Films...and Stealing a Role from Jennifer Aniston

Ellen DeGeneres, who hosts the Oscar ceremony for the second time on Sunday, shares her favorite movie memories with Parade. She recalls that the lion cub drama Born Free and Best Picture winner Oliver! helped ignite life-long passions for animals and musicals. And it was Woody Allen and Steve Martin’s early work, including Take the Money and Run and The Jerk, that would inform her rambling, deadpan humor.

But she also says that two ‘80s movies, The World According to Garp and Out of Africa, remain favorites. “I love stories that are inspirational yet have a lot of heartache, because I think that’s what life is.” Other excerpts from the story follow:

On why she initially said no to hosting the Oscar broadcast again (she earned an Emmy nomination for her emceeing duties in 2007):

“Everybody who works with me thought I was crazy. But the person who lives with me—Portia—was on my side. She thought, ‘I don’t need to go through this, either. She’s gonna be stressed.’”

On why she ultimately agreed to do it:

“I thought, ‘All right, let me scare myself again.’ It’s good to do something that scares you.”

On her commitment NOT to do her trademark dancing on Sunday’s Oscar broadcast:

“I’m not going to be dancing. I dance on my show. I don’t think people need to see that every time I do anything.”

On the pride she takes in her supporting role in the 1999 comedy EDtv:

“Jen Aniston is my friend and she recently reminded me that I beat her out of that. I got the part and Jen Aniston didn’t! That’ll probably be the only time that happens.”

On being the inspiration for the film Miss Congeniality, in which Sandra Bullock starred:

“Miss Congeniality was written based on me. When I was getting ready to cohost the Emmys, the writer saw me [on TV] learning how to walk in a dress and heels. My stylist at the time—a man—was teaching me, and it was hilarious. The Miss Congeniality writer saw it and thought it was brilliant.”

On perhaps following Oprah’s lead and taking on an occasional dramatic film role:

“Okay, I’ll do that. Put that I’m available for small roles. If they give me the right one, I promise I’ll be nominated for an Oscar, if not win… You know what? I can tell people that on Oscar night.”

On Parade.com, DeGeneres continues the conversation. When asked if she remembers the first movie she and wife Portia de Rossi saw together, she admits, "No, I don't. We were probably making out or something!"

Katy Perry: Dark Horse Video Edited Days After She Delivers Baby

Katy Perry’s latest music video for her track “Dark Horse” has been accused of “portraying blasphemy” by some Muslims.

The video has been criticised in some quarters because it depicts the pop star as an Egyptian queen who then magically disintegrates those attempting to seduce her into sand. According to the BBC, one of Perry’s potential suitors was even spotted wearing a pedant with the Arabic word for God scribed on it.

Because of this, Shazad Iqbal, who hails from Bradford, England, started anonline petition asking for the track to taken down from YouTube. Over 65,000 people signed the petition, and their contributions have lead the offensive material to be edited out of the “Dark Horses” video.

Shazad confirmed their victory by informing his comrades, “Guys I’m thrilled to let you all know the name of Allah has been removed from the “Dark Horse” video we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support so I thank each and every one of you deeply, our voices have been heard! God bless you all بارك الله فيكم.”

Previously, he had registered his disgust with the creation by explaining, “At 01:15 into the video “Dark Horse”; a man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word ‘Allah’, which is the arabic word for God. Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames.”

Shazad’s supporters had previously stated that this “ignorance” showed a lack of “respect” towards their religion. After his “peaceful” triumph Shazad noted “by getting everybody talking we have put the message out there that such inappropriate material will not be accepted.”

It’s been a rather hectic few days for Perry. On Saturday she was spotted smooching on stage with Miley Cyrus during the latter’s Los Angeles concert, while on Wednesday rumors started to swirl that she had “amicably” split upfrom her boyfriend of two years, John Mayer, just weeks after they had reportedly become engaged.

And then later that day she informed her legion of Twitter followers that she had just helped to deliver her friend’s baby in a hopefully sterile living room. The 29-year-old wrote:

Finally you can add “helps delivers babies in living rooms” to my resume! It’s been a miracle of a day…❤️ Auntie Katy aka Stylist Auntie

Katy Perry and John Mayer Break Up

Katy Perry and John Mayer have reportedly ended their relationship once again.

A source close to the couple told E! News that the two broke up "within the last few days," and that the reason for the split is still unknown.

The news comes on the heels of Perry's trip to Milan, Italy, a getaway from which Mayer was noticeably absent. The "Dark Horse" crooner returned home to Los Angeles on Friday.

Over the past few months there have been several rumors that the duo had gotten engaged, but neither of the singers confirmed or denied the allegations.

Perry and Mayer went public with their relationship in 2012. The pair took a break in March 2013 and reconciled later in the year.

David Bowie Facing Backlash Over Scotland Comments

Rock icon David Bowie is facing a backlash from nationalist Scots after begging the country not to leave the United Kingdom during his BRITs acceptance speech.

The Ziggy Stardust icon did not attend the 2014 BRIT Awards in person to accept his trophy for Best British Male on Wednesday night, and he asked supermodel Kate Moss to deliver an acceptance speech on his behalf.

After expressing his gratitude at being awarded the prize, Bowie closed his message by pleading with Scots to vote against the country's proposed departure from the U.K., adding, "Scotland, stay with us."

The comment has provoked outraged reactions online from many Scots, who have branded the musician out of touch.

One critic tells the rocker to "f**k off back to Mars", in referencing his hit Life On Mars, while another angry Scot writes, "Jog on! Next time Scotland will ask if we want your worthless opinion."

Scots will vote on whether or not the country should remain part of the United Kingdom in September.

Justin Bieber's Atlanta Move Protest Was a Hoax

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a neighbourhood in Atlanta, Georgia had protested against Justin Bieber potentially moving there because of his recently arrest and bad behaviour.

The wealthy area of Buckhead supposedly created a Facebook page to organise a protest against Bieber relocating there and a statement was issued, that read: "As a community here in Buckhead, we have worked hard to achieve our goals and get to where we are. Justin Bieber's relocation to Atlanta can be nothing but bad for our children, as well as the community."

Now, it has been confirmed that the whole thing was a hoax and was spearheaded by local radio station Rock 100.5's The Regular Guys show. Host Steve Rickman told E! News: "We just sent tweets out, and that's it - just social media. We did not send press releases or anything like that to our local affiliates. We're really not trying to, you know, burn everybody - we're just doing something fun,"

'We just did it as a fun thing. I mean it spun completely [out of control].We're blown away. It's a home run when you're a morning radio show."

On February 21, Bieber tweeted about being victimised and wrote: "I guess I'm an easy target for some. I'm still human. I will continue to meet hate with love. It's all about the music. Much love."

Lego Movie Takes Box Office For Third Straight Weekend

Justin Timberlake Apologizes For Letting Down Fans in Buffalo

Justin Timberlake made a TV apology to fans in Buffalo, New York on Friday night after a 24-hour flu forced him to reschedule his Saturday night gig in the city to the summer.

The singer postponed his Wednesday night gig in New York City at the last minute after falling sick, but he bounced back to play the show on Friday night and had hoped his tour could continue as scheduled.

However, Timberlake had to scrap his Buffalo gig on Saturday because of touring logistics, and due to the end of the Winter Olympics in Russia he can't perform there on Sunday.

Appearing on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show on Friday, the pop star explained, "Wednesday night, we had to move to tonight. It is hard; it knocks the whole schedule off, so tomorrow night I'm supposed to be in Buffalo but we had to try to move that show too because the routing of the tour, it's just impossible to break down the stage (and) get the stage up (in time).

"I thought everyone who played hockey was still in Sochi, but apparently they come back pretty soon and the Buffalo Sabres... we have to deal with so many schedules... and so I had to move the show, like, all the way to the summer. I feel really bad."

Fallon then offered the singer the chance to make an apology to fans in Buffalo and Timberlake turned to the camera and said: "Hi Buffalo, I'm Justin Timberlake, and I want to say I'm sorry, I'm sorry for postponing my concert this Saturday. I know what you're thinking: 'Justin, I don't want an apology, I want a concert'. Trust me, I hear you Buffalo, but there's no reason to raise your voice; we've got a good thing going and I don't wanna mess that up.

"So I'll tell you what I'm gonna do - I'm coming back July 9th and you better be ready because we're gonna party, we're gonna party hard, that's a guarantee.
"And, if for some reason you're not satisfied, Jimmy Fallon will come to your house and give you a full-body massage... so I'll see you this summer, Buffalo."
Timberlake's tour will be back on schedule when he hits Washington, D.C. on Monday.

Miley Cyrus And Katy Perry Kiss During 'Bangerz' Concert

Miley Cyrus kissed a girl, and she liked it -- especially since that girl was fellow pop superstar Katy Perry.

The two singers were caught on film during Miley's concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Saturday night, and in the middle of a performance of her track "Adore," Miley climbed to the edge of the stage, pulled Katy over and gave her a kiss on the lips.

But Katy kept things PG as she pulled back when Miley tried to slip her the tongue, leaving the singer in shock.

"I just kissed a girl and I really liked it a lot," Miley reportedly told the crowd after the short peck.

The two shared photos on their respective twitter pages after the show, which featured a collaboration between Miley and Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne and guitarist Steven Drozd on a cover of the Lips' "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Part 1."

Numerous stars were in attendance, including Kendall Jenner and big sis Khloe Kardashian, Hilary Duff and couple Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

"That @MileyCyrus puts on a great show," Madden tweeted after the concert.

Justin Bieber Offered Plea Bargain Deal in DUI Case

Embattled pop star Justin Bieber has been offered a plea deal to avoid jail for driving under the influence (DUI), according to a report.

The Baby hitmaker was arrested in Miami, Florida in January on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and resisting arrest without violence and he subsequently pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Editors at TMZ.com report Bieber has now been offered a deal that will allow him to avoid a jail sentence, but only if he agrees to submit to regular drug tests.

Law enforcement sources tell the website the Florida State Attorney has offered Bieber the chance to plead no contest to reckless driving, and in return the star must complete 40 hours of community service and attend an alcohol education class.

As part of the deal, Bieber will also reportedly have to submit to random drug testing.
It is not known if the star plans to accept the reported deal.
