Cher has parted ways with her longtime costume designer Bob Mackie, who had been working with her since 1972.
Mackie, 73, who is known for his flamboyant styles, feathers, and beads, would not be able to accompany the 67-year-old singer on her upcoming 'Dressed to Kill tour', which kicks off from March 22 in Phoenix, reported E! online.
"Telling you something that has broken my heart. The man who made all my costumes since 1972 decided he couldn't do my last tour. No matter how disappointed any of you are, you don't know my grief," Cher said.
"I'm sure Bob can't know how much I miss him. Felt I had to tell you I'm crying. I tried to convince him to end with me, but he had many reasons as to two why he couldn't do it. Too many obligations not enough time even to do one," she added.
Despite Cher's deep sadness over Mackie's exit, she said a new designer has been confirmed for her show.
"Thank god I have a lovely man & wonderful designer!! Hugh Durant. We will persevere," she tweeted.
