Frank Stefanko is one of music and underground culture's premiere photographers. His lyrically intimate perspective reveals raw emotionality and bold truths. Some of his finest work has been documenting Bruce Springsteen during the career-defining period of his 1978 album Darkness on the Edge of Town and its 1980 follow-up The River. Photos from that fateful New Jersey session have graced the cover of numerous Springsteen albums, including Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River and The Essential Bruce Springsteen.Bruce Springsteen says: "Frank always shot your internal life. He let your external imperfections show. His photos had a purity and poetry."
For Stefanko's gallery appearance, MHG will be offering an exclusive, limited edition portfolio of Stefanko's Bruce Plaid Shirt Portfolio. The photo package will include eight 8x10" signed photos and be limited to 25 setsof Stefanko's image-defining photography of Bruce Springsteen, featured on the albums, The River andDarkness on the Edge of Town. Stefanko says: "This collection features Bruce in his singular plaid shirt that was featured on the cover of The River. All of the photographs were shot in Haddonfield, New Jersey, with the exception of "Pinball Wizard," which was shot in East Camden, New Jersey. All were shot in 1978."

In addition to his Springsteen books, Stefanko has published Patti Smith: American Artist (Insight Editions).
